Why do libs still think that "the KKK" actually exists?

and yet, libs act unironically as though it is a huge threat of some sort.
i used to think they were purely being cynical like the SPLC to score rhetorical points and raise money, but no, there appear to be libs who are GENUINE in the belief that something called "the KKK" is still around and full of hundreds of thousands of murderous racists waiting to strike at any moment.
how did they achieve this level of delusion? |
