Date: January 22nd, 2017 5:29 PM Author: soul-stirring orchid address weed whacker sure the karl rove strategy didn't work, demographics might still pwn the GOP long-term, and most of the party freaked the fuck out when trump became the frontrunner so we got to laugh at them for a while. but consider this: if the democratic party were still mostly white, we might have elected bernie sanders in 2016. instead, we got the choice of trump or clinton. maybe the guys who thought watering down the natives would help them fend off economic populism were right all along.
the sanders stuff didn't come from nowhere, and shit's going to get worse out there as time goes on. we have no idea what the american left wing could look like if the GOP hadn't ingeniously flooded the democratic party with minorities and scooped up all the white flight.

If W's approval had stayed in the 40s the Dems would've run Hillary in 08 and McCain would've smoked her.
