And by then their knowledge/training is completely specialized so they will never get another similar job. and they have "bought in" to the company culture 100% to where work is their entire life. Basically suicide is the only option for them

At least biglawyers have probably saved up 1mm+ by mid 40s. A programmer probably maxed out at 130k salary in his best year

Just keep looking young and keep only the last two or three jobs of the resume. Seems easy enough to do.

why should they epect to remain software developers their entire life? Unless your a John Carmack level programmer, you should jump into management.

Lol middle managers are the most expendable of all. They produce nothing of value and are first to go when layoffs hit.

LOL. I'm hoping they have those paid and they do it for extra income.

It's not great money, but pays $50-$75 an hour for 3-6 month contracts. Not bad if you want to work for just part of the year.

I don't think most lawyers end up as "biglawyers" with 15 years experience. Nor do I think the people that start out in biglaw do either.

It's really a moot point.

tech doesnt give a shit about resume gaps as long as you keep current, unlike LAWL where you will be DONE HERE.
