Dc to Philly and Philly to NYC always makes better sense to take the train.
DC to NYC (an vice versa) only makes sense if you take the Acela, otherwise you should fly out of National.
NYC to Boston ONLY makes sense on Acela and that's at the upper limit. |

Train costs less than gas would be, and way less than flying. In winter its a dangerous drive too with snow etc. Train ride is overnight so we can sleep for most of it |
