It's really remarkable. I'm 30 y/o and probably what HLS touts as a success story. Yet I'm so far behind my peers that I'll probably never catch up.
Undergrad c/o 2008.
Worked for two years, saved up around 60k.
Graduated with about 130k in debt.
1 year biglaw
1 year clerk (I did these in the wrong order, so no clerkship bonus.)
1.5 years AUSA.
I'll reach net worth 0 sometime this summer.
Meanwhile, many of my friends from HS who have probably never made more than 80k/year are buying houses in the bay area. Crazy.

got the clerkship before biglaw.
I made the guess that going into the USAO would lead to a more stable career down the road. I live in a competitive district; I wasn't sure I'd get the opportunity again.
I may have made a mistake by not going back into biglaw, earning more money, and trusting that I would get something I liked down the road.
