Can't save because wages are still in the 90s. Funny how pay in all other areas increases, taxes even increase because of the lack of buying power of the dollar. It takes $22.40 to buy the same amount of goods you could buy with a dollar in the 70s. This is the problem. Why has CEO pay increases 10 fold while pay for everyone else stays stuck in the 90s. If we have to be stuck with the lack of purchasing power of the dollar we too deserve a raise in pay as well. Greed will be America's downfall.
John I'm going to have to call BS on that. I have 2 college degrees from a private non-ivy league university that has consistently been rated one of the best in the USA for decades. I have a degree in Systems Analysis and Data Processing and a degree in Business Administration. I also have close to 25 years experience - and haven't been able to find a job that pays over $20/hour for the past 8 years. That's when I can actually find a job - I'm "overqualified" for most according to employers (even though I've been clear that I'm more than willing to start at the bottom and work up again). I'm now working from home on contract jobs because it has the potential to pay better than the crummy contract jobs I've been offered. Just having the education isn't necessarily enough to get you a decent job.
