Sat scores have gone down overall in the last ten years but 99 percentile went up (from 2200 to 2250). There's more competition on the high end by a good amount |

Western state schools seemed to prefer the ACT. If a ton of people are getting 1600's now then they definitely watered down the top end and made it easier for a people to get perfect scores. Probably to fuck with asians I'd bet, because now whites can match their score and schools can flip to 'soft factors' when making a decision. The new SAT has inflated scores by around 60-80 points, but since that just came out last year none of the numbers reflect it. There's going to be a lot of bunching at the top
The common app being available for basically every private school now means kids can spam admissions to 30 schools now like med students. |
