Donald Trump's theory on exercise actually kind of makes sense

"Trump believed the human body was like a battery, with a finite amount of energy, which exercise only depleted. So he didn't work out. When he learned that John O'Donnell, one of his top casino executives, was training for an Ironman triathlon, he admonished him, "You are going to die young because of this."

I've been saying this for years and ppl are so stupid they can't even comprehend it.
Look around at the gym or at ppl who are into "running" and "sports," etc.
If they are past college age, they've probably already suffered debilitating injuries, had surgeries, etc.
You need a *minimum* amount of activity -- just north of being sedentary -- to keep your body in optimal health for the longterm. Just enough so that you don't start to detetiorate.
Anything else is 100% wear & tear.

I wasn't actually agreeing with the "battery" analogy, just the general idea that overly strenuous exercise takes away more than it gives.
A better analogy is a machine/car analogy, obviously.
Driving your car 20 minutes a day is better for it than letting it sit and rust. It keeps it in running order. But drag racing it every day will hasten its demise.
Likewise, a minimal amount of exercise (> none) is best.

I think stuff that is low intensity like swimming is good.
When I work out I go for duration/distance vs. heavy physical exertion. I think running is pretty stupid and a lot of stuff is pointlessly hard on the body, I do lift weights tho.

"running" definitely did *feel good*, when I was younger, teens/early 20s.
it produced a pleasant overall-body tiredness afterwards. it definitely had an appeal, different from "Walking." I wouldn't be so mystical as to call it a "runner's HIGH", but it felt good.
however, as with everything else, you have to remember: our bodies evolved basically to start falling apart at age 25-30, and then die by age 40. at this point, it's all about being extremely conservative, and trying to preserve your body's functionality, prevent it from literally breaking down and falling apart. not pushing its limits.
