btc and eth have both experienced protracted losses of 80%+ so if you hold crypto for long enough you will almost certainly be down that much at some point. |

And in reality that number has to be revised downward since with most popular investments, such as broad equities index fund, will generally rebound so you are generally OK so long as you can weather the storm. Crypto has no such assurance.
