Everyone over 65yo gets Medicare. Back then, Medicare was passed because very few Americans reached over 65yo and the politicians who passed Medicare didn't have the common sense that life expectancy would rise in the future.
Now, Baby Boomers are getting lots more from Medicare than what they paid in. And there's still 60+ percent of baby boomers waiting to retire. The Baby Boomer mentality is "fuck you as long as i get mine."
It doesn't stop there. Since many Boomers aged 65+ are retired, and most likely living off of Social Security, they are likely to be low-income. And if you're low-income, you qualify for Medicaid. Boomers can't stop booming!
