But - why not just dump $5k (or whatever amount you can afford) into substantially every coin and new coin as they become available...and just hold for a preestablished multiyear term? From reading these threads, it seems like about 1 in 5 go more or less bust, 3 in 5 move around a lot but overall flat or +/-50%, and 1 in 5 have a HUGE breakout, anywhere from 20x to like 10000000x. There's no good way to predict the winners, but hitting just 1 through this strategy would take care of dozens or hundreds of the failures. You'd also avoid the FOMO and limit your tax nightmare from constantly flipping coins. Someone should do an analysis of where this would have put you, assuming reasonable prices available to regular guy traders on the initial offering of all the coins. You can even exclude BTC and ETH as they are the obvious winners so far and would skew the #s Maybe I'm wrong and this strategy wouldn't work on a go forward basis bc the main part of the "gold rush" is over? |

It's what I do with stocks (75% buy and hold long, 25% for options/daytrades/shorting) and it keeps things interesting. |
