It's like Mega Man 9. People would start to question why a physical copy would even exist. Why would you need a 50gb blu ray to play a 32 meg game.

Physical carts are one thing but haven;t you ever had a disc game that got scratched to shit?

This is just the SNES, but every game on that list crushes the fuck out of every Sonic shitgame.

Never heard of Langrisser. Every time I try a JRPG that isn't one of the good FFs or maybe some of the other Square SNES stuff, I get let down.

Super Mario World and LTTP don't really hold up for me but that's just an opinion. Early SNES always seems kind of milquetoast. FF6 really punches so far ahead of the SNES's weight and is a glaring omission.

SNES >>> Genesis any day of the week though but you're not giving Sonic enough credit.

Langrisser is an SRPG. Similar to Fire Emblem but it has cool shit like branching paths and (I am 100% not making this up) a secret naked bodybuilding-themed level.

I am actually playing FF6 right now and while it's inoffensive enough I don't see how it stands out. Turn-based JRPGs almost always leave me cold. They stood apart because of their high production values with tons of music and a detailed plot, but those don't age as well as sound core mechanics.

Sonic I just don't get at all. The platforming is super basic. The only appeal is going FASTFASTFAST but this makes high level play basically just a feat of memorization rather than dexterity or skill.

it's not really supposed to be a skill-based game. it's like how listening to music doesn't take much skill but it's still enjoyable.

it feels completely different from other platformers with its wide-open levels that scroll freely in all directions and the momentum-based physics that let you feel every little bump in the terrain and use the curves to your advantage. it's a sensual experience.
