SoCal native who lives in NorCal here. Both are 180 as fuck. NorCal is better, except for finding attractive women.

Most people responding to this thread have never spent any time in actual NorCal and think SF/SJ/the East Bay counts.

calm down judgy. mendo/humboldt is too overcast. tahoe and the sierras are 180af but a bit of a commitment to live there fulltime. sonoma and napa are overpriced and gay. Central valley up to sac-town is the closest thing to hell on earth. and like you said, norcal girls are dogs (at least until you get to south tahoe)

long time resident of both

socal (LA area) is better weather, much more attractive people, worse traffic and more spread out yet still more crowded

norcal (SF bay area) is better nature, more city like, much uglier people

lots of douches on both sides but LA wins.

i personally prefer SF because it is a pain to get anywhere in LA

Socal esp now that SV had gotten ridiculous with prices and congestion compared to 10 years ago. Went up there recently and every restaurant has long wait times and awful traffic. Never liked SF either.

Everyone in socal is a soulless Instagram model or "producer" it's fucking unreal so I have to say norcal

Well I guess everyone in LA anyway

SF seems worse than LA though. Maybe. Idk.

FYI:

SoCal = San Diego through Point Conception

Central Coast = Pt Conception through SF

NorCal = Marin to Oregon

Counties that don't touch the ocean directly = who the fuck cares

I want to believe the central coast and norcal outside SF are chill places but in reality aren't they meth/opiate dumps?

Some are, most aren't. Northern and Central Mendo/Southern Humboldt are probably the worst, in the stretch from Laytonville to Whitethorn. Like in most places, it gets worse inland and is generally OK on the coast. Shelter Cove is cool as shit.

Coastal Sonoma and southern Mendo are basically paradise and meth/opiate free.

The central coast has problem spots around northern Monterey County but most of it is too rich.
