Dog food is mostly flame and the rescue I got my dog from pushed strongly to just feed meat and real food. But having high-quality kibble out is really convenient and the dog is never hungry.

Because Americans don't use dogs for work anymore and don't like smart dogs. They want "funny looking" dogs that are deformed (bulldogs, boxers, etc.) that are "low bother" (and dumber dogs are lower bother). My dog is super smart but requires a lot of attention and isn't just friendly with everyone.
