Spanish is the second most common language in the world. 1st is Chinese.

I'm sure more people worldwide know English than Spanish.

Well then this doesn't surprise me, but I'd bet it's very very close.
Spain + Latin America + South America - Brazil... can't be much more than..
UK + US + Canada + South Africa + Australia..

I don't think any other 100+ million countries, it's just that there are 20-something smaller countries
wikipedia puts native Spanish speakers (as opposed to speakers "with native proficiency", which would include non-native speakers) at 437m, a little less than my count for native English speakers
if you expand the count to "speakers with native proficiency" then English includes half of India and big chunks of Africa so you get way way more English than Spanish speakers

by my count yes
but maybe it's one of this little myths that Spanish speakers like to spread to make themselves feel better, you know kind of a pissing contest that matters a lot to their tpds and doesn't matter to anybody else, the same way that mainland china is always trying to have laughable little pissing contests and propaganda efforts for "national pride" or "face" or something
tldr they care a lot, we don't care at all
