Taxes and COL are higher, but higher salaries more than make up for it.
Hard for me as an in-house lolyer to make 250k in a low tax/COL location.
Plus the weather and natural beauty more than make up for higher taxes. I went on a 30 mile bike ride today with 75 degree weather and no humidity. While this isn't abnormal in September in most areas of the country, I will be able to repeat this in February as well. Last week I was in Lake Tahoe. Next week I will be in Big Sur.
