Friend of mine mostly works in excel, he asked if I could write him an R script to automate some of his stuff, I did it for the practice and probably saved his company an absurd amount of money (or just saved him time, if he wants to implement it without telling them)

VBA in excel can automate any task. You can break down any task by the keystroke and let a rip. Searching through directory for invoices, converting to excel, playing with data, saving, searching outlook, any repeptitive task etc etc

You can even generate html pages, scrape data, play with it. Everything.

My como had a contract with a "consulting firm". They didnt realize that the portal they used to generate payment receipts was coded in html. Html could be manipulated to generate the report you want. My friend wrote script that did 90% of job. Could probably even write a script that sends out results on outlook. That contract was for a few million bucks. My friend makes like 55k. Lmfao modern world is fraud lies

The real secret weapon is MS Access because it makes working with tables so quick if you need to make a report for a boomer boss or print up different pages for file folders. LJL at gassy office shrews copying and pasting for weeks at a stretch.

If you can do basic formulas, v-lookups, pivot tables and can make shit look presentable you are fine.

This can all be learned in a day and there are youtube guides for anything you would want to do.
