When I travel for work (which is rare, happens maybe once every two years) they use a formula to determine the max hotel price I am allowed to pay. I can stay at any hotel below that price.

If there are no conveniently located hotels at that price, I can fill out paperwork to stay at a more expensive hotel.

the schtick is that the rooms are pretty small, but super modern with tons of USB ports and power outlets and shit everywhere
