A nuclear-powered submarine is nigh impossible to detect, so it could get pretty close to North Korea without detection. Notice too that this particular sub was retrofitted with a dry deck shelter. Basically, this allows divers (e.g., a team of Navy SEALs) easily exit and entrance while the boat is submerged.
It's well known that Trump compares himself to Obama and that one of the best decisions during Obama's presidency was the raid on Abbottabad and the killing of Osama bin Laden. Solving the North Korean crisis without a single missile being fired by either side would be a coup for Trump. He could single-handedly resolve a global crisis, while making China look weak and ineffectual.
The fact that the USS Michigan will arrive in Pusan this weekend, the Chinese 19th National Congress will occur on the 18th, and there are rumors of another North Korean missile test in the next few days makes all the puzzle pieces fit together. |
