Any way, skated like shit first game but scored 6 goals in the first period, then the team rep politely asked me not to shoot anymore and focus on getting the other players looks. NBD. Ended up with 6 goals and 8 assists. 3rd game now, hands are almost back to at least average. I'm easily moving the puck and threading needles to god awful players. The social aspect of being on a team is helping my depression. The ego boost of clearly being the best player in the league, even in my mid-40's also has given me some added self esteem. I realize that this is faggot discussing this, but wtf? Wanted to share with my Internet friends. Feels good bros. Our second best player, who is actually decent asked me where I learned to skate like that and called me a "power skater," strong on my skates. ..and way faster than I should be weighing in at 215 right now. There are Tier 1 scrimmages which is mostly former D1/ECHL type players, but there are only like 10 guys that just separate into lights/darks. It's fun, but the games are at 11 pm at night... just can't do it with two littles at home.
I've resigned to just focus on setting up plays and hitting open teammates with solid passes. |
