She signed w us on Friday the 6th and then she settled her case on Monday the 9th. At intake I always counsel clients not to talk to adjusters except about fixing their car--no discussions on how accident happened and how they are doing. I didn't do intake on this particular case--another atty did, so it's possible he omitted that instruction. |

Actually if you see above, the settlement she signed was one of those "We'll pay for your medical bills incurred up to $5K" deals, which is probably why she thought that was a good deal over and bove the chump change for pain and suffering. Boy will she be surprised when the carrier sends those payments directly to doctors! |

And even if I had been so put on notice (which I wasn't), technically, the relief mechanism doesn't apply because she was not "unrepresented" at the time she signed the releases, which the relief mechanism requires.
