FF3 and Mana are old favourites. Mario Kart caught me by surprise with how fun it still is. Aside from that, Megaman X and Contra 3 are both up there... Metroid isn't far behind but it has an overratedness to it that's a biproduct of its seriousness and Exploration and "zomg non linearity." And in that game, you never see your dad, he's always traveling. Too much fuckin' verisimilitude.
