FF3 and Mana are old favourites. Mario Kart caught me by surprise with how fun it still is. Aside from that, Megaman X and Contra 3 are both up there... Metroid isn't far behind but it has an overratedness to it that's a biproduct of its seriousness and Exploration and "zomg non linearity." Metroid takes itself seriously so nobody mocks it so it ends up being overrated. I would never play a Metroid game for more than like 2 hours without getting bored. And in that game, you never see your dad, he's always traveling. Too much fuckin' verisimilitude. It's a good game but it's kind of long, and hard, and it feels a bit like the sort of weird game that would only come out in Japan. |
