Solo games aren't my thing, but I've heard high praise for D-Day at Omaha Beach.

Also, if you want a game that can also be repurposed for several people, there are a lot of good wargames that are playable solo with AI flowcharts, such as:

Labyrinth: The War on Terror

Pericles: The Peloponnesian War

A Distant Plain (Afghan war)

Fire in the Lake (Vietnam)

Liberty or Death! (American Revolution)

I should note that none of these games are terribly casual affairs.
