Would need to interview associates, with their voices and faces masked of course
Going to call it "5 years a slave and then killself"

Going to try recruiting from XOXO first
Most of the people will be interviewed like rape victims - covered face with voice modification
We need a story line featuring a star who reveals their face though
I also like the hard drug use expose on biglaw - we need some juicy deets on that

LJL
I'm thinking of we should interview that WSJ writer who wrote about her husband's drug overdose...He can be the main guy, and then we'll have the masses of associates interviewed.
"Not just drug abuse, but all forms of other abuse."
Maybe have a few wife beaters in there
There is a ton to work with, honestly

Your face would be covered and voice modified. We'd also use fake names to maintain anonymity.
One theme is to compare biglaw attorneys with rape victims and slaves. So we need to make you appear extremely vulnerable, which of course, you are.
Maybe we could interview that woman whose ex-husband who was a partner killed himself from drug overdose ....that could be a good "main character."

that's why you need to bring in the juicy deets to get them interested - dead, drug overdosed partner, dying on a conference call with a needle in his arm, still bleeding
wife beating associates/partners
associate suicides jumping off the roof, shooting their brains out in the office
partners going to work high on cocaine
partners buying cocaine for their associates (I personally know this happens IRL)
sexual harassment (this happens all the time) by partners
I am telling you, the public will be interested when you get drugs, suicide, death, and covered up sexual harassment involved. Not to mention, depression, suicidal ideation, etc.
It's almost a guaranteed winner with the right story arch - probably sundance film festival selection
The banking world has been filmed to bits already - we need to do something in the legal realm

You're going to need some atmospheric shots to set the mood.
Start with a little girl getting ready for bed and picking out her favorite bedtime story, but her dad isn't there to read it to her. Again. Then smash cut to a stooped, balding associate reading a nonsensical markup in his office over a mostly eaten box of pad Thai. The lights in the hallway are dark, and someone is emptying recycling bins a few doors down. Cut back to the girl asking her mom why daddy doesn't ever come home.
Thank.

it's not about biglaw.
it's about what biglaw does to people.
you focus on sympathetic people, it's a winner.

You should contrast a prole dude, Fordham law type who is super happy for the job and thinks it's a great honor -
with a trust fund dude who is just working the job for some dumb family reason or as a point of pride.
