I disagree. I think it’s a great show that is highly underrated because of the length and some earlier missteps, including ridding the show of its best character (and actor) in s2.
at this point, the narrative is extremely well-defined and virtually anything can happen. all of the remaining “good guys” are 180 characters with three-dimesional personas. Negan is also one of the better tv villains in our lifetime.
given that TWD is merely a stupid zombie show at its core, it’s quite remarkable that going into s8, the show is revving on all cylinders and virtually anything could happen. I defy you to name anything currently on that comes close, or any other show in the history of TV that reached 8 seasons at such a tremendous level of production value and writing while maintaining its ethos and base level of dread and suspense
