It wasn't a standalone one, something embedded in a case that was necessary to move it forward. I remember it was a case about banks, so it wasn't THAT simple. And not really, man, if you don't have at bare minimum the basic frameworks down pat, you will look like a fool. I drilled those things for hours and hours with partners. Really helped me. |

The first two rounds were with senior people and upbeat and the last was with associates and VPs Who were completely deadeyed and hardened to the world. It was the only place I have ever seen more miserable than Kirkland. At the time I would have accepted the offer on the spot. My life would have been horrible - everything put on hold for at least 2 years while I became a monkey.. they hired someone with banking experience. The next year I tried again and was dinged everywhere (even at schools pretty much everyone told me I should get in to) so there was likely something up with one of the people I "trusted" with recommendations.
Now I'm a codemonkey making a TTT wage I could have out of UG seven years ago.

Most of the interviews went into discussions about how well i could maintain confidentiality, and then inquiries towards my tolerance for porn, homosexuality, violence, blood, and harmed children. My contact reached out after i got dinged and told me there was a 30 minute partner debate amongst the partners about whether to hire me or some older more experienced woman. They decided they didn’t want to teach. to be fair my life would have been absolutely bananas if I’d gotten the job - it’s actually possible that was a more toxic way to spend 8 hours than this bort |
