because boomers moved there 40 years ago when it was dirt cheap

my parents bought a HOUSE in SF for 200K - now worth millions. my dad is now retired and has pretty much no income and lives better than a fucking millennial making 500K a year.

his brother bought a house for 500K in CA 30 years ago- now worth 8-9 MILLION, and this is his "vacation home" that he barely even visits. can you imagine the dumb, wagecuck millennial who even tries to buy a 9MM house?

millennials moving to CA now with no family money are completely retarded. they will work to death with nothing to show for it.

I guess, but his salary was 150K in then dollars (now that's like what, 600-700K), so it wasn't bad

I just find it mind boggling how these people are still staying in CA when they make 200-300k a year and houses cost 1-2MM on average in the Bay. They are also ruining the culture.

CA was a much better place 20 years ago than it is now.

trust fund kids probably. their parents pay their rent.

NYC and SF are full of people like this.

If not trust fund kids, then 3 roommates.

the ones in the worst positions are the strivers with no common sense making 300K and then buy a 2MM house with 1.5 mortgage. I know a couple people like this - they will never maek it and will work to death.

bank will foreclose on their house, since they are living paycheck to paycheck, ljl

i know a guy where he and his wife both work in tech making 400K. his entire income goes to their mortgage and hers goes to everything else. One-wrong-move and you're done for. his mother had to give him 500K down payment for some shitbox in mountain view, LJL.

when i was a kid, NOBODY wanted to live in mountain view and the houses look like shit there
