Own all cars as well. Have three kid dudes and a sahm. We all live on my 100+k salary. It's fine. We don't eat out much anyway. Eating out with kids sucks. But plenty of take out options nearby. The basics - chinese, indian, mexican, italian, vietnamese are easily available. And ofcourse plenty of good bbq and burgers joints. Love to be able to go to a store, park my car, and shop in wide aisles.
Cons: - That home has been 230k for the last couple of year whereas I have seen homes of friends in some other markets (sv/ny) appreciate like crazy. - Not much culture-wise in the burbs though. Mostly just chill with neighbors and do bbqs, craw fish boils, watch football, etc. - People are proles. Lots of shitheads in pickup trucks. Makes driving difficult sometimes. - long commutes. if you can get a job where you can work from home then it's ideal otherwise easily 1 hour commutes each way. - houston has shit weather
