somebody has to lose faggot. there is no tax reform where everybody comes out happy
i am not a big fan of this plan but its better than what we have. also only the quasi rich (not the real rich) get fucked.
10K of property tax is deductible and so is 500K of mortgage. this will cover 90% of american people

I'd be fine taking the bullet here if people richer than me ended up paying more as well. No idea why they singled out a sliver of the UMC to get wrecked.

The standard deduction is being doubled. For the $50K level there will be no material change because they don’t pay dick for taxes to begin with.

UMC professionals "play by the rules," work the hardest, and get shit on non-stop. It's almost comical. We go to school, do things the "right way," get professional degrees, and get "good" jobs where they exist (major metro areas). Then we deal with high COL and student loans, but get chastised as the "rich" by libs.
Republicans don't give a fuck about us either, because we make up a fairly small segment of American society and, to win votes, they actually need to go all-in on a strategy of appealing to white trash prole bumpkins (Trumpmos). When it comes time to fuck a group over, we're always the first.
LOL at anyone striving to become a UMC professional these days.

tcr. The people who the wealthy look down their noses at and who the working and lower classes view as wealthy. The wealthy get huge tax breaks while the poors get pretty much nothing (higher standard deduction but no more personal exemptions) other than satisfaction of knowing that faggot hillary supporting libs are getting fucked.
All of us suckers are going to end up paying for the lost revenue from a lower corporate income tax and elimination of the federal estate tax.
Fuck this horrendous country. Fuck Trump. Fuck Republicans solidifying an American Oligarchy. Time to plan an exit strategy.

Tough talking XO poasters turn into Boomers as soon as it’s their asses on the line. I’m not happy about this tax plan and I’m going to get popped by it. But the plan goes a long way to eliminating economic distortions contained in the tax code. If the GOP can get this to stick we’ll all be much better off in the long run.
After the law school scam of the past 15 years, lawyers in particular should understand the disasterous long term consequences of government intervention into markets. But we all turn into Boomers as soon as we will be adversely impacted by changes in government policy.

You should care insofar as the plan is pretty glaring evidence of the cooption of the GOP by corporate and highly monied interests, which is, among other things, a hypocritical contradiction of Trump's supposed economic populism, for better or worse. Now, your response may be, "but my dear brother Hoj, the GOP was *always* the party of the wealthy and the corporate." To which, over a fine glass of neat Macallan 25 as we sat clandestine close at the Rumblers Club above Tottenham Court Road I would reply, "Perhaps. But this feels different in kind. There's no longer the attempt to lift all the boats as part of the rising tide. The plan seems brazen and mercenary--'we no longer feel compelled to comport ourselves to the idea of action in pursuit of the broad national interest, too. We'll get ours and that's the end of it.' That's worrying."

"But this feels different in kind. There's no longer the attempt to lift all the boats as part of the rising tide."
That's not necessarily because the GOP has become more corporate-friendly. The Bush tax cuts saved the biggest cuts for the rich while modestly reducing taxes for everyone else. The numbers were budget-busting but were sold to the public and members of Congress on the basis that they would pay for themselves through a magical surge in revenue from GDP growth. No one buys that shit anymore so in order to get enough GOP members of Congress on board they've limited the increased deficits over 10 years to about 1.5 trillion. After 10 years the corporate tax cuts (if they are permanent) have to be financed through higher taxes on all households (which appears to be one of the GOP's plans).
The GOP isn't any less corporatist. They're just boxed in by their rhetoric and views on the deficit and debt and have come to realize that tax cuts don't pay for themselves. They've always focused on the mega-rich and MNC's first.

CR.
The SALT deduction creates awful state spending incentives. As the shitlib Jimmy Clausen pointed out yesterday, the people of the state basically gets a 2/3 discount on all of it's services.
