There might be something to the collusion if Trump was publicly against Russia, but he wasnt.

After Trump won, in December 2016, an outgoing Obama administration imposed additional sanctions on their way out the door. I dont see the issue with an incoming Trump admin telling the Russian ambassador that the sanctions werent going to remain under the new POTUS and to ask them not to escalate the situation which would make it more difficult for Trump to cooperate with them.

His public stance on Russia may very well have been a result of the quid pro quo. I don't see how you can assume that it wasn't until the investigation is complete. His Putin friendly position was especially odd given the way he would speak so negatively of virtually every other world leader, particularly those viewed as hostile powers.

In the end the team has to produce a report with findings and will also have to face a court where the accused will be presumed innocent and evidence will have to be presented. Rather than bash the team why not wait to see what is presented? Mueller is far from a partisan hack. I don't see how you can dismiss the notion of illegality and improper contact out of hand.

However, I give Trump a pass on the foreign donation issue because I trust that he will use the money to further humanitarian efforts, and I generally trust his judgment - he's been in civil service for so long, he's one of the good guys. I'm with him.

At a meeting in Trump Tower, Trump, Jr. actually asked for dirt on the Clinton Foundation. The Russian attorney wanted to negotiate the Magnitsky Act, which sanctions Russian oligarchs who give half of their profits to Putin to maintain his favor. Trump, Jr. has lied about the meeting multiple times. At first, he maintained that it was about Russian adoptions. Then he was forced to admit that he was offered dirt.

Deutsche Bank was investigated and fined for laundering roughly ten billion dollars for Russian oligarchs, and gave a $300 million loan to Trump and then gave the Kushner family an addition $285 million.

So why hasn't Trump attacked Putin? He has attacked the FBI, CIA, NSA, the family American soldiers, POWs, NFL players, politicians of both parties, news reporters, foreign leaders, the British PM, but not Putin. Why?
