Germany is slightly better than Spain and France, man. France is great on paper, maybe the best in the world, but Germany has ridiculous depth and blew up everyone during qualifying (perfect record, 43 goals for, 4 against). France stumbled several times and only scored 18 goals in a group containing Bulgaria, Belarus, and Luxembourg, LOL.
On current evidence Brazil and Germany are the only two heavy favorites. Next tier is Spain, France, Belgium. Argentina, England and Portugal are dark horses. No one else goes into the tournament with a legit chance of winning it.
Some truly awful teams will be there. Panama stands out, particularly, as one of the worst teams I’ve seen go to the WC in the modern era.

Their manager is a legit tard who won't use their good young players in the big games. He'll use the same stale players like Mueller, Ozil, Khedira, Gomez, Reus instead of Goretzka, Draxler, Werner, Sane, Gundogan, Weigl and Brandt

In Son I trust
ina ny case there was a lulzy game back in '05 when Korea beat Germany's best team 3-1 inexplicably. Gotta hope for a fluke but the German consistency is admirable.
Still, I don't think Korea will keel over easily like they did in '14, but will fight well and lose 2 n draw against sweden

They like to pull the "you fought well but still lost" against real 1st tier teams.
vs. Germany '94: down 3-0, claws back to 3-2 in the 2nd half and barely lose
vs. Spain '94: down 2-0, claws back to a 2-2 draw
2002 was an outlier but beating Italy, Spain and Portugal was 180
2006 vs. France: down 1-0, Ji Sung Park goal in the 86th minute ties it

until '02 Korea was wayyy backwards in soccer now just lower middle class.
But yeah it was in Korea.
'06 they beat Togo, tied France n lost against Switzerland n didn't make it through the group stage
in '10 they RAPED Greece, but then got buttfucked by Argentina and tied Nigeria. Made it to the round of 16, and played really well against Uruguay until Suarez decided to rape us

No small dark horse ever wins. They might make it to the quarters or something
Iceland is a good bet, so is Poland
Belgium could do really well

PP confirmed soccermo here
Very tough to predict winners in soccer tournaments bcos of the low scoring nature of the game. as teams gets deep into the knockout rounds it doesnt matter if you are 10~20% better. Having said that
1) Germany has by the far the best squad for 2018. Its incredibly deep and Germany could put together at least 2 teams that would be top 5 in the world with their players. Their B/C squad won the confederations cup against a full strength mexico, chile
2) Brazil has the starting 11 that is on par with Germany. The problem is that there is no depth unlike Germany and in a tournament you need very good bench as you will need it at some point. Also they are still too dependent on Neymar. If he has a bad game or is injured they lose a lot of their attacking potential
3) France - real dark horse of this tournament. World class players in practically every position. but doesnt have the track record or team identity yet. They should be treated as on par with Brazil/Germany
4) Spain/Argentina - A cut below the above 3. high quality teams but also have serious flaws. but if things click and all their pieces start firing they can win the tournament
No other team has a chance
Brazil/Germany are on opposite sides of the draw and should not meet until the final if they get there. So I will go with Germany/Brazil final with Germany as the world cup champions (useless prediction this early imo)

Spain is not below anyone
De Gea
Carvajal-Ramos-Pique-Alba
Iniesta-Busquets-Silva
Asensio-Morata-Isco
Koke, Saul, Diego Costa, Thiago, Pedro, Ordiozola, Aspilicueta, Kepa on the bench

you can write a line up like that for every team that looks great on paper. asensio-morata-isco is kind of meh since isco really isnt a wide player.
look we are talking about small differences here. you can put spain on par with brazil/germany and have france a cut below and that's probably OK too. differentiating these 4 teams is subjective imo.
spain put out a similar squad with lot of the same players as your lineup in euro 2016 and lost to a very weak italy. so until they prove they are back again I am going to put france (euro 2016 finalists) above spain.
So Germany/Brazil/France are top 3 for me but france v spain is subjective
