This has meant spending about 10 hours over the last two days listening to accounting firm pitches. These guys are just giddy as fuck about the tax bill. I have heard some lame joke about this being a "full employment act for tax professionals" in practically every meeting. The bill just adds needless complexity and trillions in debt that we will have to pay off. Why the fuck can't tax reform ever mean tax simplification instead of generating more revenue for greedy accounting firms? This is one of the most egregious pieces of legislation that I can remember.
