the grand prix allows for small mistakes. and by killing goroh, black shadow, and blood falcon on the first 2-3 laps , the race becomes much more manageable (though I assume you didn't want to be cheesy like this).
but the 40 second dash and ghost race effectively end with any error, even a poorly timed boost or turning a frame too late. those were fucking nerve-wracking and bordered on being "un-fun". |

similarly, when i was in elementary school they had a game called speedway math. i filled up the multiplication leaderboard with 100 questions done with 100% accuracy in the low two-minutes (might have even been under 2 minutes). my TAG teacher yelled at me and said she saw kids cry when they got my disk. it was a good feat for my age. |
