Besides, when I priced out oil changes at the dealership relative to quick lube places, there wasn't that much of a difference in price, especially when you price in the complimentary car wash and light detailing that most luxury car dealerships throw in with scheduled maintenance. |

This approach is not without risks. At least with BMW, they have had a very shaky (and by shaky, I mean massive issues) history as of late with their new performance engines. However, these issues were addressed with updated versions of the engines. Make sure you do plenty of research in make/model specific forums to affirmatively confirm that the model and year of car you are buying is dependable.
It also helps that my city's best independent BMW repair shop is only a couple blocks away, and it is owned by a 180 family. |
