Bought a used crv with 32k on it. Sold it at 205k. Still regret the decision. Thing gave me zero trouble.

There's some selection bias effects here. Toyota owners are soulless pieces of shit so naturally they keep their cars until the last possible mile. No Mazda owner buys one with the intent of driving it to 200,000 miles. It's an enthusiast vehicle you buy until you have more money and can buy a better enthusiast vehicle. Same with the Civic.

Mazdas are hit or miss. I've never seen a Toyota that did not have 180 engineering. The designs are boring but every one I've driven has been solid as a rock.

Toyotas are largely cars for people who hate cars, so I'd agree there's a selection effect.

Toyotas are great if you like to work on your own car. I'd say Nissans and Chryslers are for people who hate cars.

Seems like they crank out a ton of cheap ass plastic shitboxes that compete on price alone. I was helping my sister shop for minivans and the base model dodge caravan was like $4k cheaper than the next cheapest alternative, but you couldn't even adjust the seat height.

Nissan transmissions are atrocious. I can't imagine paying more than $18k for a vehicle with a CBvT but they put them in their top of the line SUVs.

The only good thing about Nissan is that the Versa is literally a Lada Vesta so if you buy one you know what it is to drive a Lada.

My rental car experience tells me that the Versa is better than the Yaris. That's two good things.

Versa is the worst car I've even driven. I remember test driving one in 2006 and thinking it was the biggest POS ever and would get zero sales and be yanked from production. 13 years later those fucking things are still being made and they STILL blow ass.

Nissan's entire business model is to take the largest car in a segment add another 4-6 inches to it and stick the shittiest CVT on the market they could possibly design in it and sell it to idiots who just absolutely need the largest car in each segment. Their cars are now approaching 80's level ridiculous lengths. I do not understand who buys them or why.

I had to be mass market cars only. But ya, Toyotas last forever, news at 11.

Note that Toyotas have not gone turbo on all models like everyone else.

The V6 Camry is going to go history soon though. They cant sell them in China so its days are numbered.

They killed the V6 accord and replaced it with the stupid 2.0 turbo like the civic type R so not surprising.

Very little worth buying these days. Everything is turbo. American muscle is the exception, but for how long? Direct injection is bad enough, but a 2.0 turbo is a terrible engine regardless of who makes it.

V6 is in the wrangler is probably on its last legs too, the 2.0 turbo motor will be pushed hard and the V6 phased out unless the jeepers do what they did with the manual and riot.

IFS in a G-wagen.

Turbos in 911 that don’t say turbo.

No manual Ferraris in a decade. All turbo except the v12.

Lambo/Audi are going to kill the V10 soon to be replaced with a turbo V8.

What’s left that’s any good? The 4500 plus pound massive HP mopars, the GT350[R], and the V8 Camaro/vette in the US and the blower jags and GT pcars and 812 and the lambos/R10.

Yes, although it’s not clear what will power it. I suspect it will be a V8 and supercharged, but who knows.

Pretty impressive showing by Toyota. Rented a Camry recently and would never drive it. Was recently in a nx200t and thought it was pretty nice. What’s the verdict on Lexus?
