The den fireplace crackles as your grandchildren sit at your feet. On cold winter nights they enjoy nothing more than story time with Grandpa.
You lean back in your overstuffed rocker as you flip to the last page in the well-worn book. "Peterman finally sold his internet money and walked away with vast riches and the freedom he so desired. He lived happily ever after. The end."
Your precocious grandson, tugging at your leg, inquires: "Grandpa, what happened to Peterman next?"
"He lived happily ever after!"
"But what after that, Grandpa?"
"Well, he died from a rare combination of AIDS, Hepatitis, and a colon perforation two weeks later."

it's very easy to put your "life savings" in a speculative bubble when you're in your 20s with no family and no responsibilities.
furthermore peterman had a MILLION DOLLARS already coming via inheritance, so it's not like he had to prepare for the worst even amongst single dudes. all of this extra crypto money is basically just gravy so he can role-play as a self-made important man in a top hat and monocle, frittering about with serious business of minding the hard "tech" of the crpto revolution.

Over thanksgiving dinner, I was telling friends about "some guy who stopped his 401k contributions and put all 30k of his life's savings in ETH and is now a millionaire"
Not flame
