Assume there's no immediate first degree connection (friend of friend or university)
Is it to immediately in your intro email state a connection or interest in them, like something you may have both worked on? Or does it just make sense to straight up say hey, I'm so and so with so and so title at XYZ corp, would love to grab coffee sometime? Because they inherently will know what you're doing, and no one really wants to do some informational interview about work in the first place.
My problem is then how do you avoid the coffee talk from being aspie as fuck or too focused on their work. Or is that CR? It just seems really awkward to me that you'd hit them up with a cold email for coffee and start talking about whatever, crypto for fucks sake, without there being a clear purpose like "I am really interested in what you do at ABC corp, how'd you get into that role?"
This sounds so fucking aspie but I'm asking for people to break down human relationships and communication, so there is no other way

I'd like to avoid a weird interaction with someone who could someday help me get a job
I just can't mentally come to terms with the internal link between
1. Send email
2. Go to coffee
3. ????
4. Have a good conversation
Do you make it not work related? And how is that possible?
Obviously then it's important to follow up and shit throughout the months and years, but I struggle with how to structure the first coffee

are there trade publications in your industry where you could have plausibly read about him or come across his name? drop that if so
honestly even if you had a plausible connection he'll still know what you're doing, but you're both playing the gc game and you both know that you're playing the game and just going through motions. he'll know that this is just a normal thing that people do and if he's nice he'll let you do it and will go through the motions with you. just don't be an aspie and it'll be fine.
