Those programs are for people who want to go into academia no matter when they graduated law school. But they're not for actual law students.
They're full time positions.
She practiced for years before going in. She was in the program like last year. |

if she couldnt cop academia why didnt she get some chill govt / intl law job for 150k rather than go back to biglaw? she clearly has the resume to avoid biglaw and get good public sector / public interest gig. |

She might want to make partner and Deb offered her something like a 1-2 yr window to try to do so.
But honestly that seems far fetched - making partner in litigation at a shop like that requires either staying at that firm your whole career or doing a stint as a US prosecutor. |
