Date: January 18th, 2018 2:46 PM Author: Aggressive smoky athletic conference crackhouse i was stuck in a hotel so i watched a lot of cable TV. what i noticed is that most TV shows have been made VERY, very DIVERSE, in an obviously intentional, quota-meeting way. but the (white) writers of these shows put all of these lines into the mouths of the DIVERSE characters that still read very WHITE. so it's like they took the same hackneyed, generic effeminate sitcom scripts they had lying around, but they arbitrarily made the 'police chief' character a marble-mouthed BLACK guy, or made the main (white) character's bosom buddy BFF a BROWN guy, etc. so you have these DIVERSE characters carrying on like metrosexual 24yo whites. it's ludicrous and artificial. it's like those interracial beer commercials, where a perfectly diverse couch full of black, white, brown, handicapped, etc, guys are all high-fiving each other and bantering cheekily. it's so forced. |

If she can see it, more and more people are as well. |

It's supposed to be based off of the autobiography of Eddie Huang but they brought in some Persian woman writer who wrote for other shows and she turned it into some milquetoast sitcom of the same formula and Eddie lashed out at the whitewashing of his life.
