I know that. i am talking about actually developing the ideas, etc. where do people find energy for this?

Ah, read that too quickly I guess. What is your background? I think most people work on their businesses when they are supposed to be working on their real job. Look at that engineer who went to Uber being sued by Google.

Don't think he said he would read business books instead of lit/history books, brother.

there comes a point where you 'have' all the literature/philosophy/history you really 'need.'

it mostly just repeats itself.

It is not about need. There are always new and interesting things to learn about history. This is really true in a lot of genres though. Most popular physics books just rehash the same stuff.

I read history and literature because it makes the world more interesting and enhances my inner life and happiness. On the other hand, I am 31 and fear I am delaying putting away childish things. Perhaps should be focusing on creating material comfort for myself/future family.

Properly done, knowledge is not childish. It's a toxic American thing that pursuing culture is "childish" and you aren't serious unless you go all-in on GC.

I don't think its childish but we are in a competition here when it comes to material accumulation, the books aren't going anywhere.
