All this crying over wage cucking is stupid. Oh no, I had to concentrate on tasks for a few hours a day to pay for a house/food/healthcare.

https://www.inc.com/melanie-curtin/in-an-8-hour-day-the-average-worker-is-productive-for-this-many-hours.html

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average American works 8.8 hours every day. Yet a study of nearly 2,000 full-time office workers revealed that most people aren't working for most of the time they're at work.

The most popular unproductive activities listed were:

Reading news websites--1 hour, 5 minutes

Checking social media--44 minutes

Discussing non-work-related things with co-workers--40 minutes

Searching for new jobs--26 minutes

Taking smoke breaks--23 minutes

Making calls to partners or friends--18 minutes

Making hot drinks--17 minutes

Texting or instant messaging--14 minutes

Eating snacks--8 minutes

Making food in office--7 minutes

I object to being forced to sit at work and pretend we care and are being productive for more than a few hours. I cannot wait to get a telework job and do my 3 hours of actual work at home and spend the rest of the time making coffee and chilling.

France has the right idea. They limit the work week to 35 hours, which makes people more efficient. Hopefully we get to the point where most people can WFH and knock out their tasks as quickly as possible and chill the rest of the day.

I work from home. On avg I work 3 hrs a day. I stop myself from going beyond that because my attention begins to flag severely right around then. It's nice to be able to take the day off afterwards, checking in only for remote meetings.

That is the outrageous part. I miss working from home everyday. I can work from home on Fridays, but my wife and nanny are there which makes it undesirable.

Actual MD. I moved for her job - which she promptly quit after 4 weeks. She was a SAHM until a couple weeks ago, when she started a telemedicine gig.
