Date: February 19th, 2018 11:24 AM Author: Cheese-eating Multi-colored Stead more people in the labor pool means that they each get a smaller slice of the pie. but if the pie is constantly growing, people can still be better off as long as the number of people coming in is controlled. i'm highly doubtful that automation will completely replace human labor. some jobs are definitely on their way out due to automation, but people are creative and will find new industries to grow. if automation really does turn out to be that good, we'll be neatly divided between artists and engineers/CS 500 years down the road. but it's dumb to make policy now regarding such an uncertain future. |
