Either of these part of the revenue generating side of biz? Finsvcs at least sounds like cost center.

Only thing worse than coat center at financial services is revenue generating. They rank you every two weeks and cut fat every quarter. And when they let you go they screw you as hard as they can on the way out.

Well, I don't know. It's analysis/valuations. My understanding is it's a group that's heavily relied upon internally with a ton of executive visibility, but maybe not revenue generating per se.

cost center. all cost centers are important until the bank has a slow quarter and the knives come out. not to say it's a bad gig. but your start up must be pretty mature if it's paying fat salaries and all that. what's the equity situation

UPDATE: took the job, under the condition that i start after my paternity ends in late april.

spoke to my current manager today 30 minutes before speaking to the new one. it's a world of difference. current is awkward, don't get along with him at all. new guy fought for me to get a higher title and more money. current company is also struggling greatly

also this job is near my wife's job in a nice suburb. we might just move out there and escape the city grind.

thanks bro. i appreciate that you try to be helpful.

from my perspective it felt like $20-25k more in a convenient commute location with cool people vs potentially going down with the ship (current company isn't growing as fast as we forecasted so there could be layoffs, benefits etc almost certainly will be cut)
