Cr

It’s one thing to not have grody brown coffee teeth, but when they’re a blue-white, whiter than the whites of your eyes, it’s tacky as fuck

it's prone to have naturally white, brilliant teeth. there are upscale cometic dentists who now focus on a realistic look because it looks retarded to have brilliant white windowpane teeth. look at Clooney on that new David letterman show on netflix. he has full veneers and could easily get perfect looking teeth, but his are not especially white and almost look intentionally natural even though he has doubtless had a ton of cosmetic work done.

It's not that, it's like in the last 10 years or so most people try insanely hard to look good. The social compact used to be we could all look sort of shleppy, but then everyone started trying to look good and compete and so everyone had to step their game up or they would go from like 7s to 4s.

Watch a movie from the 70s or 80s and you see really bad teeth.

Its really off putting when you're watching a period piece and all the actors have perfect teeth. 310 to Yuma comes to mind. I think Russel Crowe and the whore had perfect teeth, despite the fact they were supposedly desperados in their 40s and likely never saw a toothbrush. Christian Bale, OTOH, I think wore a prosthetic or made his teeth look more authentic. Probably what passes for method acting these days.
