He tried to lead me to his chosen, very desolate, meeting place in the bowels of some horrible neighborhood on the outskirts of city one winter night. I obeyed, taking bus to the meeting place, confident I wouldn't have to discharge my gun. But I missed my stop because of how dark and unfamiliar the place was. So I texted him sorry but can we meet tomorrow at this open market where lots of people would be. He hemmed and Hawes some but finally we compromised, and the next day we met behind some nondescript building near to where I had requested. He rides up on the bike I hail him, he asks me my name, I chisel him down on the price and we deal. I am riding the bike home when the detailer snaps in front of some apartment complex. Out runs some dude who I guess saw me through his window. He is very sorry for me and offers to assist me. We sort of unwrap the mangled chain and I go on my way. I stop at a bike shop next.
