I got a 2017 Dodge Challenger T/A.
Salesman told me it was 485 HP. I first looked at a car that was like 660 HP but it was too expensive.
When I went to do financing, the financing guy asked me whether I got "the 660 or the 485?" and I said 485 and he was all, "Nice!"
So I'm reading the Dodge forums the other day about my Challenger and I saw the 6.4L engine has 485 HP, but the 5.7L has 375 HP.
So I open my hood to look at the engine and its the 5.7L. I said, "Motherfucker!"
What should I do, bros? I really don't need 485 HP. The car is fast enough, but I would like to cop some leather seats.
I'm thinking about bluffing, demanding they mod it with the 6.4L engine and then settle for a leather seat upgrade.

(guy who thinks it's a good idea to have a dealership do engine mods on a brand new car)
No wonder you got raped. Do you know anything at all about fast cars?

I don't get this. When I bought a used car the first thing I did was pop the hood, confirm the engine, etc. I knew how much hp each engine has. I mean, sorry, but this is why you do your research. By the way, my salesman had no idea what the car was and what it had and kept calling it an "Overlander". He had no idea it had the tech package with adaptive cruise control or anything like that. Because of that they massively underpriced it.
At any rate, the 5.7L is fast and if you're happy with that then you're fine.

?
You think he's going to trial on this or something? I wonder who a jury will believe anyway.
This is what proles always ask--they're like, I don't have him recorded saying that!! Lol

A customer sales representative sent me a Congratulations email and asked me how I liked my new car.
I replied it was ok, but I'm not happy about how I was lied to about the HP.
I sent that five days ago. So today I sent her an email that said, "As my customer service representative I expected some sort of follow up. Did you ask the salesman what happened? Is this a pattern of conduct or a one time mistake? How do you plan to remedy this?"
She almost immediately replied she escalated it to management and then I got a voicemail from the sketchy salesman.
I'm going to call him back tomorrow.

He's denying he ever mentioned HP at all so then I reminded him of the specific things he said to me like, "The Dodge Demon is coming out. That has 900 HP, almost twice as much as that car! Street legal!"
He hasn't replied back yet. I just wanted to see if he was stupid enough to slip up in an email and give me an admission.
I'm going to send a demand letter to the dealership next.

lol. good luck. those clip-on tie wearing fucks say whatever they can to get the cars out the door.
a while back i bought a used car that was pretty sweet all things considered. when i went to test drive it, one of the tires was low, so they filled it up. I asked him what was up with the tire after I was done driving it. He said that there was a small nail in it and they patched it up. No problem.
Only other issue was that the electronic tilt on the steering column was acting up, and I'm a tallmo, so I needed it to be able to provide max room. If they'd take care of it, we had a deal. No problem, he said. Their service dude would swap it out, so I made an appointment to bring it back next week.
Turns out that the tire deflation was the result of a hairline crack in the rim, there never was a nail. And the service guy was a separate but related business unit and he wouldn't just swap it out because the sales guy had to pay him for the part/work. Sales guys then says he was having trouble locating a used part. Ok, fair, but that's ultimately not my issue. Said he wasn't going to pay for a new one.
