The boomers will quickly boom through their meager retirement savings. They will then leech younger generations (even more) through higher income taxes or taxes on our retirement savings.

XO Poll: how are your parents doing with retirement savings?

for most of these studies, they use erroneous processes such as polling 1,000 people who live in ghettos.

according to other studies, the average millennial has $100,000 in savings.

My parents retired in their early 60s with only about $100,000 in savings.

But the combination of their pensions and early Social Security fully replaced their working income.

My parents collect SS and have about $650k in retirement accounts. They have a house worth about $850k which is fully paid off. They live pretty frugally and believe strongly in passing on wealth. I actually tell them to spend a little more to enjoy themselves.

Ofcourse it is. If you haven't noticed XO is either retarded or flame (or both) about money. "Wah wahh... we make 450k HHI and can't afford a house" is utter garbage talk. Much of this country lives on 59K HHI and does just fine.

I mean, basically? They do have other money that they can use if they feel like it, but their bills are basically non-existent. They've also had decades to accumulate all the shit they want, they're not interested in traveling, what else would they even spend money on at this point?

Dad died young with like 150k in retirement accounts, but could live adequately on social security.

Mom probably has 100k in retirement, 100k in equity and will inevitably be forced to move in with me.

They’ve scared me enough that I’ve been a big retirement saver.
