"best run aviation company in the world" is not the same as delivering value to shareholders, which is the only CEO compensation metric that matters. Not to say that there aren't plenty of overpaid CEOs out there (there are), but the metrics for determining appropriate payment levels are way more nuanced than your typical OVERPAID CEOS public debate will reveal.
Also it's lulzy how everyone complains about public company CEOs while ignoring what private company and HF/PE executives earn. Public company CEO seems like a miserable job -- I feel way more sympathetic for them than their non-public-company counterparts who don't have to deal with all the regulatory bullshit.

lol fag
LH delivered record breaking revenue and profits last year. stock is up 250% (yes 250%) since Jan 2017. Compare that with UAL stock which was pretty much flat last year
guess who got paid 5M and who got paid 18M?
GTFO here. LH CEO job is a level above united on complexity, scope etc. and even if we go strictly by your shareholder value creation criteria there is zero reason for Munoz who is one of the worst CEOs in america running probably the worst airline in the developed world to be paid 3x of LH CEO when you look at how their respective stocks performed
