i bet your (((friend))) paid less than his pro rata share.
sounds like you just had shitty planning. israelis are assholes, yes. but give it another chance -- it's fascinating.
where is your tournament located? in jerusalem? how long are you there for?

tied for second place: all the hotels that are attached by tunnels or skywalks to other hotels and/or underground shopping malls
in ATL there's like a complex of three hotels connected to each other
and in a lot of far northern cities like in Minnesota or Montreal hotels can be connected to VAST networks of buildings that you can walk between using tunnels/skywalks and never have to go outside

I remember being a little kid and my parents took me to Rochester, MN for the first time. It was my first experience with a northern skyway system. I was amazed.
Of course I never went outside - it was the winter in Minnesota. I'm sure outside was a desolate hellscape.
I hear Des Moines is taking out its skyways in an effort to revitalize its streets.

it’s one of maybe 3 or 4 hotels where I actually look forward to and enjoy the hotel, rather than it just being a place to sleep until I get to go home again
perfect Lutyens architecture, generous and airy inside, marble everywhere but for legit comfort not for show (and so air cooled not blasted with shitty aircon), great little suites that I’d actually live in as a small apartment, great staff, great grounds, great restaurants, little oasis in Delhi (which is a shithole; interesting shithole, but still a shithole), by far the nicest hotel in Delhi
I’m fond of the Taj Mahal Palace in Bombay too

The Andaz in Tokyo was pretty great. The lobby is on the top floor and it has sick views. Rooms are new and huge by Tokyo (or even NYC) standards.
Also like the Carlton in Cannes and Negresco in Nice. Awesome light and beautiful old buildings.

It's new. In Minato, which is a bit businessy, but a 5 min walk from Ginza and close to Shibuya. It has a sick pool that looks out over the city.

Service was incredible though I assume all Japanese hotels are like that.

I second this one. My wife and I stayed there and it was very nice. Great views and the bathroom had a soaking tub in it (it also had a shower). It is somewhat out of the way though.

I like bangalore as a city, it's nice and green and less of a hell hole then other Indian cities. Also a decent pub culture.
Calcutta is also worth visiting, I prefer it to Delhi.
What's so good about the Leela palace though? Never been but have a deal that will send me to BLR a few times this year, is it worth staying there? I usually do oberoi or jw marriott
